Two entangled, grey obelisks form Twister, a more than four meter high sculpture made of styro foam and resin. Originally commissioned as a model for Warsaw Under Construction Festival, the monumental work served as a proposal for a public sculpture in the Polish capital. Obelisks, often functioning as symbols of power and hegemony, are depicted here as a sensual entanglement, proposing a rather flexible than rigid view on political systems. The history of the so called Eastern Bloc and the fall of the Soviet Union, during which Czebatul was born, mirrors the persistence of change. Twister appears both brutal and caricatural, but above all timeless in what it wants to tell.

Zwei ineinander verschlungene, graue Obelisken bilden Twister, eine über vier Meter hohe Skulptur aus Styropor und Harz. Ursprünglich als Modell für das Warsaw Under Construction Festival in Auftrag gegeben, diente die monumentale Arbeit als Vorschlag für eine Skulptur im öffentlichen Raum der polnischen Hauptstadt. Obelisken, die häufig als Symbole von Macht und Hegemonie fungieren, werden hier als sinnliche Verflechtung dargestellt und schlagen damit eine eher flexible statt rigide Sicht auf politische Systeme vor. Die Geschichte des sogenannten Ostblocks und der Fall der Sowjetunion, während dessen Czebatul geboren wurde, spiegeln die Beharrlichkeit des Wandels wider. Twister erscheint zugleich brutal und karikaturesk, vor allem aber zeitlos in seiner Aussage.
